The suburb of Cherrywood Tauranga is just 5 minutes from Tauranga city in the Bay of Plenty and is a popular place to buy property.

The suburb has lots of townhouses and smaller units ideal for older people (the land is generally on the flat), or couples on their own.

Like other Tauranga suburbs, Cherrywood housing is a mix of new and the not so new (1970's). The area has its own shopping centre - the Cherrywood Shopping Centre.

There are some older homes in hillside streets with wonderful harbour views. Tauranga real estate agents concede these are usually snapped up for rennovation quickly when they come on the market.

Cherrywood Tauranga has a medical centre, local Shopping Centre, Bureta Shopping Centre, Otumoetai Golf Club (nearby), Otumoetai Swimming Pool (nearby), Otumoetai Tennis Club (nearby), a local Bridge Club, churches, the nearby Matua Bowling Club and close access to schools like Otumoetai Intermediate school, Otumoetai Primary School, and Otumoetai College.
