Tauranga City

The Tauranga City has become a popular place to live in recent times and real estate prices reflect the growing demand for accommodation in the city. New apartment blocks have been popping up in prime locations handy to inner Tauranga City amenities. Inner city real estate is well sought after with older homes in demand for conversion into professional offices.

Inner city land values continue to rise so downtown real estate is becoming more suited to high rise apartments. Tauranga real estate agents are listing apartment prices from as low as under $300,000 for a one bedroom unit (although the newer flasher complexes are generally more expensive). Two and three bedroom apartments are generally $500,000 - $900,000 range, although several are priced well in excess of $1 million and even close to $3 million for spacious penthouse sized apartments with two or more car parks and views. Many of the newer apartments have facilities for residents use including: a gym, sauna, pools, restuarant, disabled access, and basement carparking.

There are no hills, so walking the downtown area is the easiest way to get around. For downtown workers or apartment dwellers, the inner city has lots of amenities nearby. There are bars, cafes, restaurants, boutique shops, churches and sporting venues are handy too (bowling, squash courts, tennis etc). The Devonport Towers is home to the Tauranga Club (5th floor).
