Greerton

Greerton was once on the outskirts of the Tauranga district but is now surrounded by newer real easte subdivisions. The suburb is roughly 5 km from Tauranga City centre near Gate Pa, Cambridge Heights, Parkvale and the Tauranga Golf Course. The busy Cameron Road passes through the suburb and in front of many homes.

There are many young families in Greerton as houses prices are generally at the mid to lower end making the suburb affordable for those on low incomes. The area has several schools necessary for parents with young families. The schools are: Greenpark Primary School, Greerton Primary School, Gate Pa Primary School, Aquinas Catholic College, and Tauranga Girls College.

Real estate agents believe the suburbs lower property prices and flat landscape are among the reasons why Greerton homes are popular with the over sixties age group. The suburb has most things retirees need close at hand, although Tauranga City is only a short trip away.

Real estate agents report the area is moving ahead thanks to nearby developments at Oropi and Pyes Pa. The suburb has its own Greeton Shopping Centre, is home to the Bay Of Plenty Racing Club, and has a Motor Inn. Other services in the area or close by are: the Greerton Swimming Pool, Tauranga Golf Course, Gate Pa Tennis Club, RSA and RSA Bowling Club, Gate Pa Bowling Club, and Tauranga Hospital.

Greerton real estate prices range from approximately $250,000 to $400,000.
