Maungatapu

Houses in Tauranga's Maungatapu suburb have some magnificant harbour views and are priced accordingly. Local residents have easy access to both Mount Manganui, Tauranga City (about 8 minutes by car) and Papamoa.

Maungatapu has its own local shopping centre (it is reasonably small), but many residents travel to other nearby suburbs for their main weekly shopping, in particular the Bayfair Shopping Centre at Mount Maunganui (about 10 minutes drive).

There is boat access and water ski lanes. Close by is the Bay of Plenty Polytechnic, Ariki Park, and the Bay Park Speedway. Schooling is the Maungatapu Primary School.

Tauranga real estate agents list houses in a wide range from under $300,000 to more than $1 million for the prestigious homes with expansive harbour views. Many of the properties were constructed during the 1960’s and 1970’s so are generally well built.
