Merivale / Parkvale

Merivale (east of Gate Pa and Greerton) is another of Tauranga's older more established suburbs close to the city. It has a very handy location close to the city, the water and the expansive Yatton Park and Pemberton Park.

Like many older suburbs, Merivale real estate prices are very reasonable, considering the location and average home and land area size. As a rule of thumb, Tauranga agents have listed homes for sale from $200,000 to $350,000 on average.

Building of the Fraser Cove Shopping Centre gave Merivale a boost as the new facility is handy for parents with families. There are also other shopping centres in nearby suburbs (ie. Greerton Shopping Centre and Gate Pa Shopping Centre).

The area also has a Ten Pin Bowling Alley, as well as the close by Gate Pa Tennis Club, Gate Pa Bowling Club, the RSA Bowling Club, and the Community Centre.

The suburb is home to the Merivale Primary School and it's not far for students to travel to the Gate Pa Primary School, Tauranga Intermediate, Tauranga Boys College, or Tauranga Girls College. Tauranga Hospital is only a short distance by car.
